Bill Belichick bizarrely projects how Cam Newton would stack up against lacrosse players

It’s unlikely that anyone has ever wondered how veteran quarterback Cam Newton would perform in a sport aside from football — let alone lacrosse.

Well, thanks to Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, we now have more knowledge on that front, and have been able to dive deeper on that hypothetical questions.

Belichick appeared on the broadcast of Saturday’s Premier Lacrosse League game, involving the Redwoods and the Whipsnakes, and that’s when he was asked a question that included some interesting crossover between the NFL and lax world. The Patriots head coach was asked how Newton compares to other lacrosse players, and he had this to say:

“Cam Newton looks like Myles Jones to me,” Belichick said, as transcribed by AL.com. “He’s fast. He’s big. He’d be a tough guy to match up against. He could run by them. He could run through those stick checks, and he’d have a tough — with the stick work — a tough overhand shot, so I think those tall, long guys really have a big advantage of being able to change the angle of their shots and still be able to run through some guys.”

We agree that Newton would be able to flatten some of those poor undersized guys.
