James Wiseman sparks Warriors rumors by indicating he’d be ‘great fit’ on team

No one really knows how the ping pong balls will fall, but the Warriors have to like their chances of landing the top overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

And while it sounds crazy on paper, given that the Warriors were playing in the NBA Finals just a year ago, but this particular campaign was marred by injury, with the Dubs having the worst record (15-50) in the league.

The Warriors’ biggest weakness is in their frontcourt, specifically their ability to protect the rim. They play an uptempo style of play, though, so it’s not like there are many long, athletic big men that can run the floor and lock down the paint, though.

Lucky for them, there is one player who checks all those boxes: Memphis product James Wiseman.

The athletic center could be the No. 1 pick in the draft, and he appears to be excited about the possibility of playing for the Warriors.

“I feel that’s a great fit,” he said on Tuesday’s edition of “The Jump,” as transcribed by Larry Brown Sports. “I feel that playing with veteran players like that, I can be able to develop my game quickly. But I can also just learn from them because they’ve been in the league for a couple years, for a really long time. So just me being under their wings, that would be great.”

The Warriors likely echo Wiseman’s sentiment.
