One of the NBA’s best sharpshooters is working on getting even better, and the rest of the league should take notice.
Bradley Beal can shoot from all over the court, and he can also play off the ball. Not only that, he can drive the lane and finish at the rim.
Perimeter players are in high demand in the modern NBA, which is why a number of teams have rumored to be interest in his services. But it does appear he’ll be with the Wizards to begin the 2021-22 season, although a lot could change between then and the trade deadline.
And maybe that’s why he’s working on expanding his skill set, to look more attractive in the eyes of other teams. He recently told Chase Hughes of NBC Sports he’s working on improving his range.
“Deeper threes. I’m not trying to compete with Dame [Lillard], I’m not Logo Lillard. But I want to shoot deeper threes and shoot more threes,” Beal told NBC Sports Washington.
“You know I need to shoot more threes. You probably say it all the time. And, obviously, make them. I have to make them.”
If Beal develops the ability to shoot from Damian Lillard-range, he’ll become virtually unguardable, and should be able to create plenty of open shots for his teammates.
