Ashton Jeanty and his longtime girlfriend Gabrielle Miller unfollowed each other on Instagram sometime in the last few days, and it’s the exact same signal that’s correctly called every real breakup already this year. Neither one has said a word about it, which is usually how these things go before they go public.

Yahoo Entertainment was first to flag the mutual unfollow, careful to note that it’s a typical breakup signal, not a confirmed one. That’s the right caveat to add.

Fair enough — but two people who built years of a relationship in public don’t quietly stop following each other for no reason.

Jeanty and Miller met at Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas, then did the long-distance thing through his years at Boise State and hers at Austin Peay, through the 2025 NFL Draft, and into his rookie season with the Raiders. They’ve shown up in each other’s game-day posts since before either of them had a stat line anyone outside Frisco cared about. All those years that survived a cross-country recruiting circuit, a full draft cycle, and the chaos of year one in the league don’t come apart over nothing.

That clip is still up, the two of them dancing together in Las Vegas. Now they’re not following each other at all.

This is starting to look like Bronny James and Parker Whitfield’s own unfollow speculation from earlier this year, another young athlete couple that went quiet on each other’s pages before either side confirmed anything. The internet read that one right, too.

Miller isn’t just a name attached to Jeanty’s timeline. She’s a sprinter at Austin Peay who took silver in the 4x100m relay at the 2025 ASUN Outdoor Championships and has talked openly about wanting a spot on the 2028 Olympic team. That’s its own clock to run, and Olympic qualifying windows don’t bend for anyone else’s news cycle.

Dating a rookie through his first full NFL season comes with its own scrutiny, dating as a draft pick in a league that treats every relationship status like breaking news. Their Instagram follow lists were never going to be exempt from that.

The timing is what makes this sting more than the average WAG rumor.
