Cam Newton gets into skirmish with Dolphins players on field after win (Video)

It didn’t take Cam Newton long to make a big splash playing for a new team.

Newton had been the Panthers’ starter since 2011, when the team selected him with the first overall pick in the draft. But an organizational rebuild resulted in them releasing him, which worked out well for the Patriots, who later signed him for the league minimum.

He showed virtually no signs of rust in Sunday’s 21-11 win over the Dolphins, making plays with both his arm and his legs. And he sure didn’t change his gameday routine much, either, rocking a flashy yellow suit before the game.

Newton also engaged in some trash talk with a few Dolphins players after the contest concluded as well, resulting in a brief skirmish on the field.

Update:

Here’s another shot which shows a bit more of the exchange.

The Patriots coaching staff probably wasn’t too thrilled seeing this, as trash talk is part of the game, but jawing after the final seconds tick off isn’t what they were used to seeing from Tom Brady in the past.
