LeBron James was so disgusted at the outcome of Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night that he didn’t even bother sticking around for the final whistle.
The Heat dominated the game from start to finish, jumping out to an early lead, and using a 40-point performance by Jimmy Butler to emerge victorious in the must-win contest, 115-104.
Butler attacked the paint from the get-go, and he benefited, hitting a number of midrange shots, and also going 12-of-14 from the free-throw line. He was guarded by James for a good chunk of the fourth quarter, but that didn’t stop the Heat superstar from scoring on his counterpart. Not only that, Butler also let James know about it, with some good old-fashioned trash talk.
James wanted none of it. In fact, he didn’t even stick around for the final whistle, instead electing to walk off the court with roughly 10 seconds remaining.
Not a good look. James needed to take his medicine in that scenario, just like any other player.
