Nikola Jokic wants to play for Nuggets during entire NBA career

Nikola Jokic is already a legend in Denver, having won over the fans and the entire organization, and he apparently doesn’t want to play anywhere else.

The Nuggets really got it right with Jokic, having taken him with the 41st pick in the 2014 draft. He was the best value pick in the history of the franchise, any way you slice it, especially given that he’s the favorite to win MVP this season.

Jokic and Jamal Murray (when healthy) comprise one of the best duos in the NBA, and the Nuggets can build around them for years to come. And it looks like Jokic is amenable to the idea, even though he’s only under contract for a few more years.

Jokic’s current deal runs through the 2022-23 season, so he was recently asked if he wants to remain with the Nuggets in the future. Apparently, he does, which he stated during a recent podcast appearance.

“When I came to Denver I said that i would love to be Denver’s Tim Duncan, because he played his whole career in San Antonio,” he said. “G-d willing, I would love to play my whole career in Denver.”

Nuggets fans would love to see him retire in Denver, with his jersey hanging in the rafters.
