Baseball is officially back, which means we’re going to see the things that are familiar with America’s pastime.
Hats, gloves, and cleats.
Let’s cut to the chase and take you to Cincinnati from Saturday, where pitch Michael Lorenzen rocked some of the strangest, but coolest cleats we’ve seen on a mound.
A pair of Vans.
Known for its skateboarding shoes, Vans brand do not actually manufacture cleats. Lorenzen appeared to be wearing a pair of Vans’ Sk8-Hi, a $65 high-top sneaker with a canvas and suede upper, a padded, supportive ankle and Vans’ signature waffle outsole.
He had his pair fitted with custom metal spikes attached to the bottom.Â
Just imagine the possibilities.
