Vin Scully serenaded baseball fans while calling games for 67 years in working for the Dodgers, and not during any point of it did he need the power of social media to aid him.
No, instead, Scully’s knowledge and knack for storytelling were what made him one of the greatest play-by-play announcers of all time. He didn’t need social media to provide him with opinions and takes he could parrot, or analytics he could share on the air during games.
But now, at the age of 92, he has joined social media for the first time, and he did so with the most on-brand post you’ll ever see, in the form of a video message.
