Veteran point guard Chris Paul began his career in New Orleans, so when he hit a clutch shot to seal the team’s most recent game there, he made sure to let his opponents know about it.
CP3 is known for being able to distribute the ball and put his teammates in position to score — which is why he’s referred to as “Point G-d.” But he’s also pretty great at trash talk, which every NBA player, coach and scout knows all too well.
He showed that in Friday’s 132-114 win over the Pelicans, after draining a game-sealing three-pointer over Lonzo Ball, putting his team up 118-107 with just under five minutes remaining.
“I own this place!” Paul yelled, multiple times.
He’s not wrong. CP3 dished out 19 (!) assists, and was an efficient 6-of-19 from the field in the win.
