NFL fans recognize AJ Brown as the Titans player known for producing big plays through the air, but it’s important not to sleep on Corey Davis.
It’s taken him a bit of time to develop, but it’s often forgotten that Davis was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Receivers are rarely taken that high, but the Titans believed in Davis for a reason.
And while he struggled with injuries earlier in his career, he’s come on strong this season. He had a Brown-esque moment in Sunday’s game, when he torched the Lions defense for a score. Davis ran right through the heart of the Lions secondary to get open, then juked safety Duron Harmon out of his cleats for a 75-yard touchdown.
Davis may not be known for his big-play potential, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s incapable of it.
