Athletes nowadays often catch feelings and get offended when teams are shopping them, and that appears to be what’s going on with Kristaps Porzingis.
Everyone saw what happened with superstar safety Jamal Adams and the Jets, as he found out the team was fielding calls about potentially trading him around the deadline back in 2019, and he never lived it down. It fractured his relationship with the team’s front office, and he eventually forced his way out of New York as a result.
And while he was one of the first big-name athletes to go this route, more and more are following suit. Kristaps Porzingis is the most recent one to do so, with Bleacher Report having recently reported that the Mavs are exploring trade options involving him.
Porzingis apparently was not happy about it, as he unfollowed the Mavericks on Instagram not too long after.
It’s probably going to be awkward if Porzingis runs into any Mavs front-office personnel in the team facility over the coming days, but it’s not surprising that they’d be shopping him, given his injury history.
