Panthers new WR Robby Anderson has funny exchange with teammate over team’s mascot

Robby Anderson may need to realize that he plays for the Panthers — not the Bears.

Carolina signed Anderson to a two-year, $20 million contract earlier in the year, reuniting him with his college coach, Matt Rhule. In the past, Anderson made it clear he was unhappy in a limited role with the Jets, and that he wanted to see more targets in the future. He got exactly that in the team’s Week 1 game against the Raiders, and made the most of the opportunity, hauling in six receptions for 115 yards (one touchdown).

Anderson was involved in a funny exchange with fellow wide receiver DJ Moore during the game, in a clip that has since gone viral. He was confused about what a “bear” was doing in the stands, but Moore let him know that it was actually the team’s mascot, Sir Purr.

Panthers, bears and receivers — oh my.
