Good luck figuring out the Ravens’ backfield situation, whether you’re an opposing NFL team, or a fantasy football player.
The Ravens have a stable of running backs at their disposal, none of whom are the featured back. Baltimore has shied away from committing to an “every-down back,” and instead, uses different guys for different situations.
In their Week 1 win over the Browns, for example, Mark Ingram got 10 carries, J.K. Dobbins saw seven, and Gus Edwards was awarded four. But that doesn’t necessarily mean Ingram will see the majority of the carries going forward.
Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman was asked about the workload for their running backs, and he refused to commit to any of them. It will apparently be a running back by committee plan going forward.
Fantasy football players can’t love hearing that. Their job will be quite difficult this season.
