Reds announcer Thom Brennaman gets caught dropping homophobic slur while calling game by mic (Video)

|

Thom Brennaman has been calling games for the Reds since 2006, but that streak will likely come to an end sometime soon, judging by what took place on Wednesday night.

It’s really hard to figure out what Brennaman was thinking while preparing to call Wednesday’s Royals-Reds game, or what he’s said in the past when cameras weren’t rolling.

We say that, because during the pregame show, Brennaman, who clearly was not aware that there was a hot mic picking up what he had to say, uttered the following:

“…One of the f-g capitals of the world,” Brennaman said, clearly unaware that he was mic’d up.

Cincinnati Reds longtime announcer Thom Brennaman was caught saying "one of the fag capitals of the world" by a hot mic…

A suspension — or worse — is likely in the cards for Brennaman, after hearing that homophobic comment.
