There’s a new team nickname in the NFL, or a lack thereof.
Washington’s NFL franchise announced on Thursday that effective immediately it will call itself the “Washington Football Team” pending the adoption of a new name.
The temporary name change comes after completing a thorough review that began on July 3.
Twitter was abuzz with reactions.
But none were more important than that of Dwayne Haskins, the current starting Quarterback for the Washington Football team.
Some were not as positive as Haskins.
Washington had held the same nickname for the past 87 seasons. Hopefully this is just a placeholder.
A team without a nickname is just weird.
