It sure didn’t go unnoticed when Oklahoma State Football coach Mike Gundy publicly announced that he would no longer watch the One America News Network.
The network, a conservative news network that has promoted unfounded conspiracies, is gladly milking the Gundy controversy.
Outside of the entrance to get into President Donald Trump’s rally in Tulsa on Saturday, OAN correspondent Chanel Rion was seen wearing an Oklahoma State T-shirt as she waited for a response to her invitation to have a discussion with Gundy as well as running back Chuba Hubbard and Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis.
Earlier this week, Hubbard threatened to not participate in any OSU events unless something changed after a photo of Gundy wearing an OAN shirt was posted to social media.
Gundy later apologized for wearing the shirt.
“Once I learned how that network (OAN) felt about Black Lives Matter, I was disgusted and knew it was completely unacceptable to me,” Gundy said. “I want to apologize to all members of our team, former players and their families, for the pain and discomfort that has been caused over the last two days. Black lives matter to me. Our players matter to me.”
We’ll see what Gundy has to say about it.
