It was a very special weekend for fan’s of Kobe Bryant. August 23rd would have been Kobe’s 42nd birthday, and the tributes came pouring in.
Today also happens to be Kobe Bryant day, 8/24.
Taurasi, who is known as the White Mamba, after the nickname was given to her by Kobe, showed off her love for Kobe by wearing his #8 jersey.
The autographed jersey will be auctioned off to benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Taurasi was also among the speakers at Kobe’s public memorial in February.
Kobe was a fan of the WNBA like no other. He was a huge advocate for women’s sports, and he made such a huge impact on so many players.
He will surely be missed and remembered forever.
