It’s so important to feed Zeke, as the Cowboys may have a great passing game, but their success on the ground keeps defenses honest.
Ezekiel Elliott is one of the highest-paid running backs in the NFL, and given how much the team has committed to him financially, it’s important to give him plenty of touches every week.
The Cowboys, unfortunately, fell behind early in Sunday’s game, trailing the Falcons 20-0 after one quarter of play — essentially forcing the team to throw more than it probably would have liked. But Elliott did get the ball in the red zone on one particular play early in the second quarter, and he made the most of it.
Elliott received a handoff just one yard from the end zone, but was met by a Falcons defender. Zeke wasn’t fazed, though, as he ran over the poor guy, en route to the Cowboys’ first touchdown of the game.
Zeke sure lowered the boom on that play.
