Chargers receiver Keenan Allen is rarely mentioned in the top-five receiver discussion but he appears to believe he belongs in there.
It’s subjective as to how receivers stack up against their competition, but most analysts believe Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., DeAndre Hopkins and AJ Green (when healthy) round out the top four.
But that’s created a ton of discussion as to who belongs in the second tier of receivers, and if you ask Allen, he believes he’s at the top of the list. Mike Evans, TY Hilton, Tyreek Hill and others are often mentioned for that honor, and Allen thinks he’s better than all of them, as well as Chris Godwin — in proclaiming that he’s the best receiver in the AFC West.
Allen is a great receiver, but we’d take Mike Evans and Tyreek Hill over him any day of the week. If we were doing rankings, he’d probably fall right behind those two, rounding out the top eight. But that’s just our opinion.
