Donald Trump repeatedly referred to the University of Alabama’s head football coach Nick Saban by the wrong name several times during a call on the eve of the state’s Republican runoff race.
Trump showered Tommy Tuberville with praise, the former head coach of Auburn University, but he also gave props to Saban, just not the right one.
Trump may have been thinking of Lou Saban, the former head coach of the Buffalo Bills in the 1960s who died in 2009.
The President hosted Nick Saban and the Alabama football team at the White House in 2018 after he briefly attended the national championship game in Atlanta.
We can probably give Trump a free pass on this one, he’s pretty old.
