People around the United States may have “mask fatigue,” refusing to wear face coverings, for some reason, but one of the most well-respected voices in the NHL world clearly feels otherwise.
Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour was a charismatic, locker-room leader when he played the game, as his teammates really seemed to gravitate toward him. He’s had a similar impact as a coach, helping rebuild what was once a struggling team, into a legitimate contender. And his players really seem to buy into what he’s selling — most importantly, his system. It’s a big part of what makes the team so difficult to beat, as everyone plays their role in disciplined fashion.
And given that Brind’Amour has seen people out and about in public without face coverings, like the rest of us, he felt compelled to weigh in about it, with the NHL playoffs set to begin in less than two weeks.
We couldn’t agree more. Wear a damn mask, and help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, please.
