Look: Alex Smith draws amazing standing ovation from his wife, children in first game since 2018

Alex Smith delivered the comeback story of the year on Sunday, in a time when the country was desperately in need of one.

Given all the social justice protests and civil unrest, the United States as a whole was in need of a heartwarming moment to rally around. And, thanks to the courageous Smith, they got one.

Smith fought back from a brutal leg injury he suffered in a game in November 2018, which entailed him undergoing 17 surgeries. He elected not to retire, and instead focused on his rehabilitation.

On Sunday, his number was called, when Kyle Allen got hurt in the Football Team’s game against the Rams. Smith entered the game, and he received an amazing ovation from his wife, Elizabeth, and two children.

What a moment for Smith and his family.
