Rules are rules, and for some umpires, they’re not making any exceptions to those rules.
During Sunday’s game between the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves, umpire Joe West halted play to eject Nationals GM Mike Rizzo for not wearing a mask.
Rizzo was seated alone in a private suit in the upper deck, so it was even more unusual, but it got to the point that West called security to remove Rizzo.

Rizzo just agreed to a three-year contract extension on Saturday, so his job is safe and sound.
Meanwhile Joe West really needs to learn how to properly wear a mask.
